The harpist Simone Seiler was born in Freiburg and studied in Würzburg (Prof. Gisèle Herbet), in Trossingen (Prof. Renie Yamahata) and in Brussels (Prof. Jana Bouskova) before completing her final concertexam with Prof. Godelieve Schrama at the Musikhochschule Detmold.
Simone Seiler has won several prizes at various competitions. In 2002 she was finalist at the international competition of the Franz-Josef-Reinl-Stiftung in Vienna as well as prize-winner at the German Harp Competition. Further prizes were won in 2003 at the international competition ,,Felix Godefroid‘‘ in Namur, Belgium and the competition of the Culture Department of German Industry (BDI) in 2005. In 2007 she won the musicprize of the Society for promoting culture in Westfalia (GWK).
Since September 2005 Simone Seiler has held the position of Solo-Harp in the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra. Furthermore, she has performed under conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Sir Roger Norrington, Stefan Blunier, Heinz Holliger, Yakov Kreizberg, Andrey Boreyko, Daniel Harding and Lothar Zagrosek. CD recordings and radio broadcasts round off Simone Seiler‘s activities.
